Games and Thrones

I'm almost page 200 out of 800. Ayan kasi! I decided to read the novel first before watching the HBO series. I have no regrets naman. Some people say it's a tougher read than Raymond Feist's books but I still love it. If only I can allot more time to read per day. haaayy :)

The first few chapters can be a chore. It's overwhelming. Too many characters. Then I remember Jessica Zafra's journey with reading Russian literature. It has too many characters as well, with names unpronounceable in English. They even have nick names! Speaking of Russian lit, so far I've only read the short story Dr. Zhivago by Boris Pasternak.

But then again as you progress with the Game of Thrones, you start loving each character and their perspective. My fave for the moment is Tyrion who said, "Never forget what you are, for surely the world would not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you..."

good idea to read the book first before watching. I have the tendency to watch the movie first which always becomes an abridged version of the novel, lacking the otherwise important details.
